Die Faszination des Klanges einer Gitarre begann im Unterricht in der Primarschule. Leider gab es keine Möglichkeit für mich, so ein Instrument zu bekommen und zu lernen. So plante und baute ich meine erste akustische Gitarre mit 15 Jahren selbst.

Im Jahre 1997 machte ich mich selbständig als Schreiner. Parallel dazu konnte ich den Gitarrenbau langsam, aber stetig weiterentwickeln. Anfänglich waren es vor allem elektrische Instrumente, dann immer öfter auch Akustische. Von Meistergitarrenbauer Karl-Heinz Römmich lernte ich die wichtigsten Grundlagen für den Bau akustischer Gitarren. Die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse finden ihre Anwendung in vielen Instrumenten.
Seit August 2016 bin ich stolzes Mitglied der European Guitar Builder Association ( EGB ).

Mit der Celtic-Linie wagte ich einen eigenständigen Weg in Konstruktion, Formensprache und Design. Ein Holz-Zargenbogen mit der Kontur einer Gitarre ist die Basis für diese Instrumente. Daraus entstanden später auch die Modelle Galileo und Nightingale. Die Galileo ist eine drehbare Doubleneck, die aus einer akustischen, und einer elektrischen Gitarre besteht. Ein Novum in dieser Art.

Es ist mir ein wichtiges Anliegen, die Gitarren möglichst aus heimischen Hölzern zu bauen. Daraus entwickelt sich ein Prozess nach stetigem Entdecken von neuen Holzarten und anderen Konstruktionen. Die mechanischen Ansprüche beim Griffbrett verlangen nach hartem und abriebfestem Material. Darum verwende ich hier auch Hölzer aus anderen Ländern. Kundenwünsche bezüglich Exotenhölzer werden nach Möglichkeit berücksichtigt.

Jedes einzelne Instrument wird von Hand gebaut. Das verwendete Holz ist gut abgelagert und wird sorgfältig ausgelesen. Individuelle Kundenwünsche werden während des ganzen Prozesses miteinbezogen. Wenn der Kunde seine Inspirationen und Ideen in seinem Instrument wiederfindet, dann bin ich sehr glücklich.

Since I was in primary school, I always was fascinated by the sound of guitars. Unfortunately I did not had the chance to get the musical instrument of my dreams. Hence, at the age of 15, I started to make plans to construct my own first acoustic guitar. I was successful and my self-made-guitar, finally, gave me the opportunity to do my first steps in learning to play.

In 1997, I started my own business as ajoiner. Simultaneously, I was able to gradually develop the construction of my own guitars. At the beginning, I was building primarily electrical instruments, but later on I increasingly produced acoustical guitars too. From Masters luthiers, Karl-Heinz Römmich, I have learnt the important basics for the construction of acoustic guitars. This experience and the new knowledge led to significant improvements of my instruments.

Being a member of the European Guitar Builder Association (EGB) today makes me very proud.

With the new Celtic – line I dared to follow a new way in construction and design. A wooden framecurve in the shape of a guitar generates the basis for the instrument. Based on this idea the versions of „Galileo“ and „Nightingale“ had been created. The challenging novelty, named Galileo, is a revolvable Doubleneck making the guitar a true hybrid – acoustic and electronic in one.

It is my utmost concern to work with local wood. Consequently, I am currently initiating a process of discovering new sorts of wood and different construction designs. Due to the mechanical stress the fingerboard has to be built of hard wood that is resistant to abrasion. That’s why I use foreign wood for this particular part of the guitar. Customer requests regarding exotic woods will considered if possible.

Every single guitar is hand-made. The customer’s individual wishes are part of the whole procedure. Whenever a client recognizes his inspiration and ideas in his new guitar and he is satisfied with the product, I am pleased and happy too.
